2007 Spring Festival Review

2007年2月24日晚,堪城中国人联络网在JCCC的Yardley Hall举办了一年一度的春节联欢晚会。 本次活动不仅得到了堪萨斯大学孔子学院,对华友好研究会的热情赞助,而且得到了中国驻芝加哥领事馆的大力支持。 今年的春节联欢晚会在节目的质量和晚会的安排上都较往年有了长足的提高。不仅如此,今年的晚会在服务中国会员的同时还更注重了文化交流的层面,将春节晚会又推向了一个新的高度。

整个Yardley Hall 在大红灯笼和中国结的装饰下显得喜气洋洋!1000多个座位,坐无虚席。身着喜庆中式服装的孩子们为大家带来的灯笼贺春,在舞狮和春节序曲的背景下热热闹闹地拉开了整台晚会的序幕。由乐乐合唱团和堪城华人合唱团为大家共同带来的“甜蜜家庭”和“彩云追月”勾起了观众们多少思乡的情怀;可爱的小猪舞和别具一格的中文小品惹来了观众一阵又一阵热烈的掌声和笑声;古筝与民乐合奏以中国传统的方式向观众们拜了大年;温婉飘逸的群舞“化蝶”,在如梦似幻的背景中将观众引入了瑶林仙境;武术、舞蹈、民乐、小品,精彩纷呈的节目将晚会推向了一个又一个的高潮!整台晚会在各民族舞蹈大串联、喜庆的红包撒送和热烈的鞭炮声中降下了帷幕。带着对新年幸福生活的美好憧景,观众们互致新年的问候,在寒暄声中信步走出了会场。在后台,所有为本次晚会付出辛勤汗水的演员、工作人员和志愿者们也欢呼雀跃,庆祝晚会的成功。

本次活动得到了方方面面的大力支持。由于人数众多,在此不能一一列举。但可以肯定的一点是,这次活动为堪城华人的影响力又增添了不可忽略的一笔 -------显示了堪城华人社区的凝聚力和巨大的潜力。最后,感谢所有的会员与非会员朋友对 KCCNA的大力支持!您的支持是我们华人成功的动力!

Kansas City Chinese Network Association (KCCNA) held its annual Chinese New Year Celebration on the night of February 24th at Yardley Hall, Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College. This event is primarily sponsored by KU Confucious Institute and the Society for Friendship with China, and also received the significant support from major local companies, including Sprint, Garmin, and Black & Veatch.

More than 1,000 guests attended the celebration for a splendid night. Following with a Lion Dance presented by Randy Li and his students, Red Lantern Parade by 40 lovely children unveiled the preface of the show. Through two-hour’s performance, the audiences not only experienced the rich heritage of Chinese culture, but also the traditions for Chinese New Year celebration. The performances included Traditional Chinese Children’s Dance, Chinese Folk Dance, Chinese Folk Songs, Traditional Chinese Music, Martial Arts and Traditional Chinese Dress Show.

This event involved in over 150 performers and volunteers from both Chinese and local communities, who are the key to the great success of this event.. KCCNA would like to extend our appreciation to all the volunteers, performers as well as our previous and this year’s committee members for their great contribution to the success of this event. In the end, KCCNA wishes everybody a prosperous “PIG” Year!
